Eco-friendly printing services from thatcopyshop
At thatcopyshop we take our role in the environment seriously, as we know many of our customers do. These days, the impact on the environment in all of our day-to-day lives and businesses is a big consideration and concern.
This is why we want to let you in on some of the initiatives we’re part of, and the difference this has made to our carbon footprint and the environment as a whole.
Carbon Capture
We got involved with Carbon Capture in April 2016. And from that time we’ve
captured approximately 11.557 tonnes of CO₂, creating around 288.92 sqm of new native woodland simply through buying our printing paper from Premier Paper.
The Woodland Trust calculates planting approximately five trees per 25sqm, depending on species and terrain, which means we’ve helped to create a whopping 57 trees since we started this initiative – something we’re hugely proud of.
Together with the Premier Paper and the Woodland Trust, we’ve helped to raise over £1million, planting over 230,000 trees and capturing 59,000 tonnes of CO₂. We’re super proud of that too!
Tree planting
Premier Paper held three planting days last year, with the most recent one being in November 2019 in the heart of the picturesque Derbyshire countryside. Despite the cold weather, hundreds of people came together to plant a staggering 13,000 trees in an area that’s been developed to create a giant classroom for children and young people to learn about nature. The saplings planted included maple, oak and silver birch, hawthorn and hazel – all of which are broadleaf trees native to the UK.
We’ll be posting more details on our environmentally friendly printing services soon – so watch this space!
